Public Consultation on a proposal for a mandatory Transparency Register
The European Commission is committed to increased transparency, in the way it operates and in European Union decision-making overall. In that context it has announced its intention to propose improvements to the Transparency Register, which is a tool put in place by the European Parliament and the European Commission to cast light on lobbying activities seeking to influence European policy-making. Through this Public Consultation the Commission shall assess and understand what has worked well so far, what can be improved and how, in order to ensure that the Register fulfils its full potential as a meaningful tool governing relations between the EU institutions and interest representatives.
